Shut out noise but let the fresh air flow

If you are disturbed by noise, the ideal solution is a sound-dampening air vent.
Whenever a hole is made in an exterior wall, it should be placed where the sound level is as low as possible; for example, onto a rear courtyard or back garden. That said, it is not always possible to place an air vent where one would ideally like. When you let air into your home, noise generally follows – from traffic, industry or simply the noise of people pursuing leisure activities – all of which can disturb your peace and quiet.
